Itinerary:
Day 1-Delhi –> Agra
Upon your arrival at the Delhi airport, you will be cordially invited by our representative and driven to the hotel in Agra (4 hrs drive from Delhi), visiting Sikandra en-route. After checking in, you will be taken on a sightseeing tour covering Taj Mahal - a poem written in white marble and the most extravagant monument ever built for love, Red Fort – a must-see fort in Agra which witnessed many events that lead to the construction of the Taj Mahal, and Itmad-ud-Daula’s Tomb – a historical monument rich with artistic finesse. Over night stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 2- Agra –> Jhansi –> Khajuraho
Proceed to Jhansi by train from Agra station. Arrangements for your assistance will be made on your arrival at Jhansi from where you can proceed to Orchha. Overlooked by the modern era, Orchha is a medieval town which was once the capital of the Bundela kings. The town is built along the banks of the River Betwa and still retains the charm of the bygone era. Among the imposing edifices of Orchha the most popular ones are the Jehangiri Mahal - built by Raja Bir Singh Deo to commemorate the visit of Moghul Emperor Jehangir, and the Raj Mahal and the Laxminarayan temple - both noted for their fine Frescoes and Mural paintings. Post-lunch trip is arranged to Khajuraho (170 km-4 hrs). Over night stay is at the hotel.
Day 3_Khajuraho
Spend the day exploring the Eastern/Western group of temples including the Laxmi and Varaha temples, Kandariya Mahadev temple, Devi Jagadamba temple, etc. Khajuraho temple complex is a place of great interest for national and international tourists, and houses many exquisite sculptures. The creative instincts of the artists are beautifully captured in the sculptures of Kajuraho, reflecting the many moods of life in stone.
The temples at Khajuraho fall into two broad groups:
The Western Group
This is the largest, compact and centrally located group in Khajuraho and includes some of the most prominent monuments built by the Chandela rulers. The Lakshmana Temple, the Matangesvara Temple and the Varaha Temple form one complex and the Visvanatha and Nandi temples are located close to this complex.
The Eastern Group
This comprises of five detached sub-groups in and around the present village of Khajuraho. These sub-groups include three Brahmanical temples known as Brahma, Vamana and Javari and three Jain temples - the Ghantai, Adinath and Parsvanath.
Day 4_Khajuraho –> Varanasi
Transfer to airport to board the flight for Varanasi. Our representative will meet you on your arrival at Varanasi and overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 5_Varanasi
Start the day with a boat ride on the River Ganges, followed by an excursion to the Buddhist town of Sarnath where Lord Buddha made his first sermon after enlightenment. Post-lunch trip will be a city tour of Varanasi covering Alamgir Mosque or Beni Madhav Ka Darera, Dasaswamedh Ghat and The Bharat Mata Temple. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 6_Varanasi –> Bodhgaya
Proceed to Bodhgaya, on arrival you will be taken to the hotel where overnight stay is arranged.
Day 7_ Bodhgaya
Excursions arranged to Rajgir/Sapta Pari cave and Venevamas. The places are packed with locales of Buddhist significance. Rajgir is an important Buddhist pilgrimage center; it is believed that Lord Buddha spent 12 years here and this is also the place where Lord Buddha attained nirvana. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 8_Bodhgaya –> Patna (visiting Nalanda en-route)
Drive to Patna visiting Nalanda en-route. Nalanda was the Buddhist center of learning from 427 CE to 1197 CE and is considered to be one of the great and the oldest universities recorded in the history. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel in Patna.
Day 9_Patna –> Kushinagar (visiting Vaishali en-route)
Begin the day with a sightseeing trip to Vaishali – Lord Buddha first visited Vaishali on the fifth year after his enlightenment. Capture the rare glimpses of Kutagarasala Vihara – a monastery which houses an Ashoka pillar in perfect condition, Lotus Tank, etc., and proceed to Kushinagar for an overnight stay.
Day 10_Kushinagar –> Shravasti
Start the day with a visit to the Mahanirvana temple and the modern Japan/Srilanka Buddhist center & monasteries then proceed to Sravasti where the ruins of this ancient city & Jetavana monastery can be found. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 11_Shravasti –> Lumbini (change the vehicle at Sanauli Border)
Drive to Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha. Check-in to the hotel on arrival.
Day 12_Lumbini
Sight-seeing trip to explore the ashoka pillar, the Mayadevi Temple, the sacred Bodhi tree and the ancient monasteries in Lumbini. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 13_Lumbini –> Pokhara
Drive to Pokhara and check-in to the hotel on arrival. A city tour of Pokhara or boat ride on the Lake Phewa can be arranged based on your preferences. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 14_Pokhara –> Kathmandu
Drive to Kathmandu and check in to the hotel on arrival. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 15_Kathmandu
Start the day with a city tour of Kathmandu visiting the places including Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Boudha. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 16_Kathmandu
Sight-seeing tour of Bhaktapur, Patan city and the Tibetan refugee Camp. Overnight stay is arranged at the hotel.
Day 17_Kathmandu –> Delhi
Transportation will be arranged to Kathmandu airport for flight to Delhi for further departure.
